Our Off Leash Dog Training Program trains your dog in (5) lessons to perform the following commands: heel (walk by your side) and automatically sit when you stop, sit, come, place (go to your doggy bed), leave it, drop it, and addresses many of the common puppy or dog behavior problems such as: jumping, nipping, counter-surfing, digging, and going through the garbage.
Off leash dog training provides and enhances your relationship with your dog in so many different ways. An off leashed trained dog and a dog that has completed on leash dog training classes or lessons cannot compare. Dedicated Dog Training’s mission is to promote off leash dog training for puppies and dogs, while explaining the benefits to dog owners.
An off leash trained dog is taught to obey your commands… PERIOD. On leash dog training trains your dog to obey your commands for the most part on leash. We don’t oppose on leash dog training (as a matter of fact we still perform basic obedience training, at the owner’s request), we just believe it should be a supplement to off leash dog training, not the opposite. Some of the major differences in both dog training methods are: safety, playing, exercise, and in our opinion less stress on the dog and you, and just a real sense of having a trained obedient dog.
Safety - a major issue with dogs that are leashed trained only; when a dog is headed for danger it is usually because they broke away from the leash and are running towards the street or something equivalent in nature. An off-leash trained dog owner would remain calm and have their dog ‘come’ on command. Playing and Exercise - dogs love to play, especially the younger ones. Leashes restrict their ability to reach their full potential. Some leash free events are: running on beaches (where permitted), hiking, swimming, frisbee, playing ball, etc… Leashes aren't allowed in dog runs, how many times have you seen it take someone 15-20 minutes or longer to get their dog to leave a dog park. Also, back on a safety issue, when dogs engage in unruly behavior in dog parks such as fighting, you could have the confidence to call your dog to your side without incident.
Stress- off-leash dog training enables your dog to enjoy many freedoms, as with humans, the less we are restricted and confined the better we should feel and the better they too should feel. I am not a Doctor, nor do I claim to be one, but to be tied to a leash or not to be tied to leash, to pull on the leash and apply constant pressure to the neck or not to pull on leash, these are the questions.
